Old Flame is a machine of resistance. Born in the Western, MA, DIY scene, the indie-rock band spins grit and honey-rasp vocals into a psychedelic post-punk nostalgia with an afterglow of raw blues. Old Flame is comprised of Emma Ayres (Emma June), Sam Perry (Dios Trio), Ken Birchall (Eric Culberson band), Nate Mondschein (The Rooks), and Hannah Rosenbaum (Sodada).
Since forming in 2017, Old Flame has been nominated by The Deli Magazine as “New England Artist of the Month,” and released “Wolf In The Heather EP.” The album documents the rise of the Trump presidency, and was lauded by The Valley Advocate for its “acid-tongued lyrics that rail against corporate capitalism and capture the spirit of proto-punk in a bottle; a rollicking anarchistic flair for damning it all to hell.” In the words of ‘Ear To The Ground Music’: "Love this sound, retro and brand new all at the same time. Toes the line of vintage & psych rock. Addictively good."
They have also released “The Dream Reservoir Picture Show,” a low-phi surrealist kaleidoscopic film reel, recorded the exclusive acoustic collection “Emily Tapes” in Emily Dickinson’s Amherst MA bedroom, and organized “A Night of Primary Source Performance," working in concert with The Women of Rock Oral History Project to showcase women in rock who’ve been underrepresented — or not represented at all — by rock journalism and historical scholarship.
HAVE A LISTEN:
After spending her youth developing her craft as a singer/multi instrumentalist touring with the likes of Jon Anderson (Yes), Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), Napoleon Murphy Brock (Frank Zappa), and Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction), Jenny Founds joined Start Making Sense: A Tribute to Talking Heads and discovered the perfect musicians to join forces with, the brother duo of Jon & Jesse Braun (of Start Making Sense, Insidious Rays, & Great White Caps). After playing together for years on the road paying tribute to some incredible music, these seasoned musicians have crafted original material that is loud and evolving.

Sunshine Brothers Inc.
Among the rolling hills of Western Massachusetts, a world at times monotonous, Sunshine Brothers Inc. create their own 'psych surf synth sunshine pop.' For the Sunshine Brothers, four young friend-boys pursuing bachelor degrees, music was once a bedroom-based, dream-like escape from tedium, but is now an ever-growing lifestyle. While their culture is certainly no-frills and fast-paced, it is undeniably sunny, and committed to the principles of uninhibited fun.
Jazz squeezed through an indie rock tube, described as having "dream logic," and "a willingness to defy genre conventions."
"Sodada" is the work of Hannah Rose and Andy C., who have been writing and performing in various groups together since the the summer of 2012. Originally from the Hudson Valley in New York, they now reside in Western Mass., sandwiched between the cows and the concrete.
